about

"Waiting" is a digital exclusive EP that contains our best music released over the last two years along with some previously unreleased music, not available anywhere else. We can't say enough nice things about the folks who have taken the time to come to this page and check this out.

It's because of folks like you that we've been able to pursue our dreams in a real way over the last year. We've learned so much and it would be a disservice to you if we didn't speak frankly and honestly in telling you that it has been a life-changing experience getting to know all of you and play our hearts out for you.

This is the first time we've released a collection of songs like this, and we hope that if you've connected with us on any level over the last few years, that you'll take the time to download this EP.

As we've grown and developed as musicians and songwriters, our approach has become much more holistic and can be heard, in reverse, by listening to this EP in its entirety.

When we started this band in 2014, we had no idea what we were doing, and just wanted to play music, we didn't care what kind. After years of woodshedding what works and what doesn't and picking and choosing what we do well while being as authentic as possible, the resulting sound can be described as a blend between the pop/folk of Mumford & Sons and The Lumineers.

If these two bands got together and wrote some music while being inspired by the beautiful scenery of Colorado, Montana, and Wyoming, we think that it would sound something like "Broken."

Nearly all of the music we've written in the last couple of months have sounded like they belong somewhere between "Waiting" and "Broken." We think that this is a good way to think about the new DOY sound and can't wait to share the newer, more acoustic-based side of our music to all of you.

You've all been such an integral part of this journey for all of us and we can't wait to see you in 2018!

about

Drones Over Yellowstone Riverton, Wyoming

If Mumford & Sons wrote some tunes with The Lumineers and recorded them in The Rocky Mountains, it might sound something like Drones Over Yellowstone. Folk meets indie with plenty of influence from bluegrass flatpickers and country guitarists.
